I have EXTREMELY thick hair; what is the best way to curl my hair?

I really would like BARREL curls, large, bouncy curls , instead of tight small almost cork screw curls.

I have a spiral hair curler, but that produces tight curls.

My hair is four inches from my butt, so it's rather long and it's extremely thick and heavy. But it holds curls well.

Any suggestions?

I have EXTREMELY thick hair; what is the best way to curl my hair?

if you have extremely thick hair the best thing you can do to get your hair like that is follow these steps-

*if your hair is frizzy get curl defining gel and scrunch it.

or if your hair is just thick......

*skip a shower for a day so that the grease in your hair will hold the curl.

*take little thin pieces and count to about 25 and then let the curler go but make sure you wet your hair first and put lots of gel in it to let it dry.

thats should do it:)

the only thing you can do to get the curls you want is sleep in rollers or after you get out of the shower put your hair in rollers and dry your hair with them still in your hair.

Thick hair problems please help!!!?

I have really thick and frizzy hair and when i straighten it, it gets a little bit thinner but its still thick. Can I have suggestions on how to make it thinner..kk thanx! =]

Thick hair problems please help!!!?

Let a hairstylist flatten it out .When I say flatten it ,it is when they cut by thickness not by length .

Thick hair problems please help!!!?

Avoid "Volumizing products". Try John Frieda's new products in "Frizz Ease" you can find them also anywhere and I love them!

Thick hair problems please help!!!?

I think that it is just a natural thing. Babe, people aren't looking at you like huh? there looking at you like Ow!. They are jealous of your hair. Everyone wants that style now.

Thick hair problems please help!!!?

most women want thicker hair,

but i have the same problem

go to your hair salon and ask her to use her thinning shears

ask her what you should do in between cuts

hope this helps =]

Thick hair problems please help!!!?

Go to a hairstylist and get it thinned, I have that problem too, I just go and get it thinned when it bugs me. It really helps.

Thick hair problems please help!!!?

well i have seen this thing on the t.v. called the maxi glide and from what i have seen it will sriaghten almost any kind of hair ...although i did not try it u might want to look into it

Thick hair problems please help!!!?

the only thing i know you can do is to straighten it...sorry

Thick hair problems please help!!!?

i have the same issue. Before you go to sleep the night before you straighten in, roll your hair around in the bun and put a scrunchi around the whole thing so that it wont crimp anywhere and it will dry smooth automatically, it help sraighten the hair because it is smoother and it flattens it out a bit

Thick hair problems please help!!!?

ha. same goes for me. i used dove advanced care for the normal to dry becaue at the bottem it said reduces fly aways and frizz's and it worked! you have to use a couple bottles to notice anything. and i use to have such thick hair i would always break hairbands! but you can also go to the salon and get it thinner im doing that next summer =]

Is having thick hair a bad thing?

I have black and thick hair, and it can be annoying at times. Is having that kind of hair a good or bad thing?

Is having thick hair a bad thing?

Thick hair can be good. However if you want to get it thinned out a bit, find someone who cuts hair with a straight edge razor. The razor is able to really get in there and make your hair seem lighter. Call around to salons in your area, I'm sure you'll find someone who does razor cuts... just make sure you specify straight edge razors...

Is having thick hair a bad thing?

You are lucky my hair is kinda thin and I wish I had thick hair. Thick long hair is beautiful

Is having thick hair a bad thing?

It's a good thing because you can do more with it than thin hair

Is having thick hair a bad thing?

If you get the right kind of cut and style, it is fantastic. If your hair is long, get it cut in lengths to thin it out around the ends. You'll still have a lot of body, but just the right amount.

Is having thick hair a bad thing?

If its excessive I suppose its a bad thing, but by and large its seen as a good thing. Think about it, you never see hair products advertising that they'll make your hair thinner, yes? Hair thickening sprays, pomades, etc are very popular, so my answer would be yes, it's a good thing.

Is having thick hair a bad thing?

I think thick hair is a good thing. It always looks fuller and healthier, but sometimes it will not style as easily.

A layered cut could possibly take some of your bulk out, if it's a concern.

Best of luck!

Is having thick hair a bad thing?

Hey,u have the same problem with me.But it is really grateful to have thick hair cause it looks good.Especially when u know how to tame it.I did rebonding to make it looks smooth and shiny. Why don't u try. It'll be easier to take care of it.

Is having thick hair a bad thing?

I guess it really depends on you if this is good or bad hair!! I have thin hair, I wish it was Thick! I love thick hair... so in my opinion... its a Good Thing!! =)

Is having thick hair a bad thing?

i have thick brown hair and it is not a bad thing some times it is annoying but you can do so many things with it ... be proud of your hair and be glad you dont have to spend 100's of dollars on styling products just to make it looks volumized! love your hair!

Is having thick hair a bad thing?

I also have thick hair, but I definitely think it looks better as opposed to thin hair. You could always have your hair thinned if the thickness bothers you.

Is having thick hair a bad thing?

Since most people with thin hair seem to complain and the fact that so many products are made to stop thinning hair, it would seem we have the advantage--I have been told every single time I have sat in a barber's chair "wow, you have the thickest hair".

I am not so sure what is so great about it. I would think it is a stylists dream to work with such hair but dozens of different stylists and not one has known what to do with it. I have shaved it all off military style for a decade, so my verdict is: BAD THING.

Is having thick hair a bad thing?

nope. take this from an expert, i have really really think brunnette hair. it takes me more than an hour to wash my hair and more than hour to dry it. but having thin hair isnt fun, no offense. my friend is a blonde thin hair and she cant get it curl, permed, or straighned cause its so thin that its weak. trust me, having thick hair is a blessing.

Is having thick hair a bad thing?

well, having thick hair can be regarded as a nice thing only if u manage them well.having a nice hair style according to hair type %26amp; ur face cut can optimise ur benefit of having thick hair.otherwise it could be vice versa.

Is having thick hair a bad thing?

thick hair is a veryyyy good thing! Besides, coarse hair is much more resistant to damage(coloring, bleach etc). And VOLUME! lucky girl 閳?br>Is having thick hair a bad thing?

omg your so lucky girl thick hair is def a good thing

Is having thick hair a bad thing?

hundreds of people want your type of hair!

just be happy with it.

if you're not then you're better off bald and giving your hair to the unfortunate!

bet you love it now ey? haha.

if you're a young teen then you'll probably soon love it so don't worry!

i have thick hair and lots of it too, was such a struggle!

i used to hate it but looking at everyone elses with their thin, greasey hair in a matter of hours hair, i have never felt more happy! (sorry if you have this horrid hair but i have to be honest, what more can you do other than stick it in a pony?)

you could get it thinned or cut in layers if you are fed up with it mind.

just remember how hair is just an accesory.

Is having thick hair a bad thing?

Nope. I have thick light brown hair (down to my waist) and 閳?it. I am lucky I have good genes.

Is having thick hair a bad thing?

very good thing

Is having thick hair a bad thing?

its good dude u r the lucky one.........

Is having thick hair a bad thing?

thick hair is good i mean i have thick hair myself and there's alot of things you can do with thick hair.........if your hair was thin it would be harder to keep a hair style!!! so its a good thing dont worry your not alone!! =) =) =)

Is having thick hair a bad thing?

no its great

U can make different desisions on what look u want

cheers

Is having thick hair a bad thing?

NOPE!! go us!!! :]

I have thick wavy to curly hair and I used to hate it....?

and the key word is Used to hate it... I started reading up online about S.L.S in shampoo's and the no-poo to this and that about shampoo's... I have always hated my hair, I felt like a porn star... so much body and wave.. felt like my head was 3 ft across..lol

For everyone who has similar problems.. with the frizzy course waves and curls, the one where you hate to touch your hair because it feels like hay.. 2 months ago, I threw away all my shampoos and conditoners... I now use a shampoo bar that is all natural to clean my hair and believe it or not a Vinegar rinse (1*3 vinegar to water dilute) to Condition my hair...

I also threw away my hair brush and picked up a wide tooth comb and my hair is now beautiful, its shiney (thanks to the vinegar) and you wouldn't classify it as course either, Its a pleasure to touch.. I even had a compliment the other day on how nice and thick my hair was..

Anyways give this a shot and stay true to it for one or two months for the results.

I have thick wavy to curly hair and I used to hate it....?

u effing lier, i tried that, and my hiar beacame like a troll doll, people dont beiive ppl on here do tricks, its never true!! They only want to make u misrable,,,,Fook U!!!

I have thick wavy to curly hair and I used to hate it....?

you used to brush it?? brush curley hair has always been a no-no no wonder it was out of control

and i think diluted vinegar is a good substitute for shampoo because it's less as harsh but it certainly doesn't make your hair better than it was before you washed it

I have thick wavy to curly hair and I used to hate it....?

that's not a question. and if vinegar was good for hair they'd use it in a salon.

Thick, wavy hair, help!?

i have thick, wavy/frizzy/poofy hair, and a lot of it!!

i need a haircut that:

-is easy to take care of (i have to get up at 5:30 am, have 15 minutes to get ready and out the door, no time to waste on styling hair)

-doesn't involve mousse, gels, etc., (because of my skin i can't put any products in my hair)

-is short (not pixie cut, but something like a bob)

i know this is probably a lot to ask, but any pictures/advice would be VERY appreciated!

PS-don't worry about my face shape/hair color. i've been told my face can pull off a great deal of cuts, and i change my hair color a lot.

Thick, wavy hair, help!?

Thick hair on body?

My daughter id 5 yrs old and she is very hairy, she has got thick hair specially on arms, legs, and back. I am quite worried for her, please advise some home remedy for her.

Thick hair on body?

She is 5 years old!!! I think the last thing you should be doing is seeking hair removal ideas off the internet for a child! Seek advice from her pedi before you listen to any of the dummies suggesting waxing! The only thing you will do is permanantly traumatize her if you do that.

Thick hair on body?

wax...

Thick hair on body?

How old is she?

Thick hair on body?

wax or laser hair removal

Thick hair on body?

its problaby nothing

Thick hair on body?

Is she named Chewbacca? Sounds like you might have to take her to a dermatologist, in my opinion. They might suggest lasering it off, although I'd sure hate to go to that extreme for a 5 year old (although it does NOT hurt).

Thick hair on body?

Good God. You don't wax a five year old! (Not that I thought you would, that was directed at the other person!) I really don't know if there IS anything you can do for her at that age. Most things that come to mind are either painful or stinky, neither of which a five year old is likely to tolerate.

Thick hair on body?

she is too young to wax or shave.Once you shave, you will have to do it more often. She's just fine ,just wait til she's a little older.Im 16 and im hairy but i dont shave my arms.Noone really cares.

Thick hair on body?

Does the hair bother her? If it doesn't, then I wouldn't take action quite yet... that would be bringing something to her attention that might not bother her for many years otherwise. But, I would reccomend maybe getting her to a dermotologist or something, just to gather up as much info as you can when the time to do something comes.

Curly thick red hair, how do i keep the frizz down?

I have curly THICK THICK THICK red hair. When i scrunch my hair, i'm not able to get the back to well and it becomes this huge poof and frizz, any ideas on how i can spread the gel evenly without making my hair super hard? I use LA looks. Also, how can i get my hair to stay the way it looks when it's wet, when it dries it gets all poofy any ideas?

Curly thick red hair, how do i keep the frizz down?

Pink, make sure you have a really good cut for your hair type. Trust me, an expert cut is key to managing and living happily with impossibly curly/frizzy hair. Have you discovered the diffuser attachment to your blow dryer? After using a blow dryer for decades (to try to straighten my hair), I experimented with that diffuser thang after getting a cut that enhances my curls (no more fighting my natural waves; it's soooo liberating to embrace my natural curls). It is great! And be sure to use a cool setting and not the hottest one. Also, I've discovered that if I wash my hair in the evening and sleep on it once it's dried naturally (that is, not necessarily blow-drying it, though you could, but don't go to sleep with wet hair), when I awaken, all I need do is run my fingers or a very wide-tooth comb through, and I'm good to go. (Revlon makes a dandy wide-tooth comb; the packaging boasts it's ideal for layered cuts, and it costs under $3.00.)

Hope this helps.

Curly thick red hair, how do i keep the frizz down?

frizz ease products.

Curly thick red hair, how do i keep the frizz down?

I would recommend panten mouse "curl control" it works great. I have curly brown hair and I used it. worked like a charm

Curly thick red hair, how do i keep the frizz down?

John Fredia's (Sp?) Frizz Ease Products , Worth the money you will spend on them.

Curly thick red hair, how do i keep the frizz down?

frizze ease or lots if mousse to style and do a little lift make sure to keep hair short.

Curly thick red hair, how do i keep the frizz down?

What I would do if I were you is take a little aloe vera gel - the natural kind, not dyed green as I'm not sure what that would do to hair. As your hair is drying and starts to poof, smooth a tiny bit of aloe over your hair. You can redo if it starts to frizz again.

You can also use some watered down aloe in a spray bottle on dry hair to reduce frizz, and on braids to keep them neat. I prefer it over most styling products because it really works on frizz and flyaways without making your hair feel weighed down with a bunch of product.

Curly thick red hair, how do i keep the frizz down?

I have very thick, thick, thick hair myself. I use a flat iron, but that's not your look. I also recommend an anti-frizz serum. I use the one by Pantene. My hair is about 3 inches below my shoulders and I use a enough to equal a 50 cent piece. I rub my hands together and spread it all through my hair and style from there. It works great.

What to do with my thick curly hair when wet??!!!?

Ok, so i have semi-long thick curly hair that goes down to the middle of my back. For the past year or so, I have been brushing my hair in the shower, while the conditioner is still in my hair, and it usally came out perfect and shiney. But latley im starting to hear that brushing my hair in the shower is bad, and also, my drain is getting clogged with all the hair thats falling out. I really dont want to go bald, or start losing my curly hair, So the past two weeks i've tried combing my curly hair in the shower with conditioner, and its still not working. If i was to use my fingers, its much to hard from the knots that are get stuck in my curly hair. I cant, cant , CANT, brush my hair while its dry, becouse it just gets frizzy. I dont like to use products to put on my hair everyday, so i dont use them at all. When i brush my hair when its dry, it tends to frizz up instead of going into nice little ringlets like it would usally if i brushed it, yet i dont want to lose so much hair.

What to do with my thick curly hair when wet??!!!?

Mousse or straightening balm.

What to do with my thick curly hair when wet??!!!?

first of all.. brushing hair in the shower is not bad.

especially for us people with thick curly hair.

you will not go bald! everybody loses hair.. and people with

thicker tend to lose more. so dont worry about that.

just continue to brush your hair.

you wont go bald or any of that nonsense.

i havent gone bald yet.. and trust me my hair is THICK %26amp; CURLY.

if you want it to be softer or less knotty, i would try a leave in conditioner.

What to do with my thick curly hair when wet??!!!?

if your so worried about "going bald" in the shower, which wont happen

just comb it after you come out of the shower, while its still wet instead of waiting for it to dry

What to do with my thick curly hair when wet??!!!?

man, that sounds familiar!

haha, i have curly hair too, and it's definitely tough to take care of.

before i get in the shower, i brush it out. then i shampoo, rinse, and put conditioner in. while the conditioner's still in, i wash my face/body and whatever else i need to do so the conditioner has time to soak in. to get the real benefits from your conditioner, it needs to be left in for 5-10 minutes.

then, i take a plastic-bristled brush, and brush out my hair while rinsing the conditioner.

now, this won't stop your hair from coming out. women with curly hair lose about 10 times the hair that women with straight hair lose, and you're supposed to lose hundreds of hairs a day, so don't worry about it. it's normal!

when i get out of the shower, rather than towel-drying my hair, i squeeze out the water with a downward motion.

NEVER BLOWDRY! that's an easy way to create unwanted frizz.

i like to put a little cream in my hair, CHI makes great stuff, as well as Redken, but if you prefer not to use products, then proceed without them.

while the hair's still wet, comb out any other knots, and part it how you like it.

then gently scrunch your hair while it's air drying. and don't forget--never brush it!

hopefully you'll be happier with your hair now. :]

hope i helped!

For Frizzy hair.. these ussually work really good.. and i have some more tips at the bottom.. which are great for healthy hair... so good luck!

- Anything from the brand FrizzEase works preety awesome. So does Infusium 23 shampoos.

*Hair still frizzy? Take a curling iron to the top layers. It will only take a second, and the heat will zap the frizz out.

*1 advacado, and 1 tsp. Olive Oil. Mash the advacado, and add the olive oil. Mix. massage into hair, leave in for 20 minutes. Wash hair as you normally would. You can double this 'recipe' if your hair is exceptionally thick or long.

* Mayonnaise. Yeah, sounds pretty gross.. But it will make your hair smooth and soft. Apply it to hair, leave it in for 10-15 minutes Rinse out, wash hair as you normally would.

Washing your hair everyday damages your hair.. read on more tips below!

Having Hair Problems??!?!?

Take good care of your hair! It will add to your charm - who can resist a person with lovely, silky hair? So do try out the above tips! Hope these littles tips have been useful! :)

Tips To Stop Hair Loss %26amp; Keep Healthy Hair Here are some hair care tips that you can use to help stop hair loss and keep your existing hair healthy and looking great. Please don't take these tips lightly. They are very important . The only thing they require is your time and commitment.

- Massage your scalp with your fingertips (not your nails) daily to stimulate and promote circulation to your scalp and reduce excess fallout. Invert your head while you shampoo %26amp; massage your scalp. This helps promote blood circulation to the head.

- Essential oils %26amp; tea . To stimulate scalp circulation, massage the scalp with rosemary essential oil or rinse hair with tea made from sage.

- Comb or brush your hair and scalp gently in the morning and at night. This helps break up hardened oils (sebum) that are clogging your hair follicles. Doing this alone has produced new hair growth. Do not over do combing or brushing.

- keep a distance from dryer's heat. When using blow dryers, always keep the heat a good distance from your scalp and hair. Avoid heating the scalp and hair excessively. Excessive heat will increase hair loss, and excess fallout.

- Avoid getting hair creams, lotions, styling gels and sprays directly on the scalp as they will clog your hair follicles. Use a light hold spray if you must.

- After swimming in a pool, shampoo your hair as soon as possible to remove any chlorine residue. Chlorine is extremely damaging to the hair and scalp.

- Avoid over-exposing your hair and scalp to the wind and sun. Good hair care over a long period really makes a difference!

- Avoid tight hats and caps as they contribute to poor circulation, depriving the hair of proper nutrition and stunting new hair growth. The sweat, dirt and grime around the rim inhibit follicle health and contribute to build-up.

- Always consult your health care provider for extreme causes of excess fallout and thinning. A medical condition or medication could be causing hair loss side-effects.

- Strive for balance and harmony in both your personal and professional lifestyle. High stress factors can cause your body to react by fluctuating hormone levels. This in turn causes excessive oil secretion (sebum) which results in hair loss.

- Pregnancy, nursing, menopause, and even birth control medication can cause constant changing factors on your nutritional needs and hormonal levels which contribute to hair loss and excess fallout.

- Avoid "crash and fad" diets. Proper nutritious meals along with vitamin and mineral supplements are a key factor for healthy hair and skin.

- Good hair care starts with awareness. These hair care tips, if followed consistently, will reduce excess fallout, hair loss, and promote new hair growth.

- Reduce hair loss effects by increasing your intake of vitamin C found in fresh fruits and vegetables, particularly citrus fruit and juices, parsley, broccoli, green peppers and black currants. Take a vitamin B complex everyday or brewers yeast. Increase your intake of protein found in meat, fish, liver, wheat germ, dried cooked beans and peas, tofu, cheese, milk and eggs.

- Take dietary supplements such as Vitamin B6, zinc %26amp; saw palmetto. Supplements are useful when you can't get enough from natural food sources.

- The Chinese believe that hair is nourished by the blood, and therefore influenced by the kidney %26amp; liver. Treatment is aimed at these organs using fleece flower root, wolfberry fruit or mulberry fruit.

- Eliminate stress or else it can be disastrous to your precious hair!

- Get enough sleep. Sleeping well is essential for the health of your hair as well as for the rest of your body.

There are ways you can help stop the grease from appearing but you have to work at it.

Do not wash everyday. The cleaner your hair is the more it can seep into your glands and harder it is to get rid of. When you do wash make sure you are washing with a cleaning shampoo and scrubbing the build up off. Take in mind that you also have to have a ph-balanced mild shampoo and lite scrubbing is recommended. Try to avoid conditioner at the roots, apply in the middle or on the ends.

Try to avoid oil in your daily food intake. And do eat more vegetables. You could visit your doctor but only after you check and consider your diet, drugs, alcohol, and your fatty food intake. Let's face it we see what McDonalds can do to your heart in a month, can you image your hair. You would be dripping everywhere.

Maybe it's time to change your shampoo. Ask your stylist what she or he would recommend. Avoid using shine products at all costs. Keep away from two-in-one shampoos and conditioners and any frizz serums.

To fix at the moment, rub a little Talcum Powder on your dried hair at the roots. Just make sure you wash it out. I wish they would event that magic product, but this will help until they do.

Here are 10 tips for to keep your hair strong, smooth, shiny and beautiful!

1. Keep your diet balanced, and eat protein and calcium rich foods. Stay away from junk foods! This is essential for healthy hair.

2. Foods and supplements to nourish your hair:

* Beans

* Yogurt

* Almonds

* Vitamin B

* Fish

* And of course, the magic potion for beauty - WATER

3. Before washing your hair, comb it well to make sure all knots has been loosened from your hair.

4. Before applying shampoo, use warm water (35 to 38 degrees Celsius) to run through your hair to rinse and wet it thoroughly.

5. When applying shampoo or conditioner, don't use your fingernails to scrape through your hair. Instead, use your palm and fingertips to massage your scalp and hair gently, in circular motions. This will help the circulation and also help to keep your hair shiny and smooth.

6. After rinsing away all the shampoo, run water over your hair for at least another half a minute (3 minutes is best) to ensure there are no remains of shampoo remaining in your hair, since this will cause a great deal of damage to your scalp.

7. When applying hair treatment products, do so just after you have washed your hair, so that your hair can absorb all the good stuff while it is half wet. This will be the best time for it to absorb nourishment.

8. NEVER go to bed with your hair wet! Hair that is half wet is most easily broken, and if you sleep during this time, your hair will be rubbing against each other, damaging your hair in the most terrible way.

9. Too much pressure may lead to hair loss! Relax... try some good relaxation methods such as soaking in a nice scented bath, listening to music, and eating healthy comfort foods such as strawberries and grapes.

10. Perming and coloring seriously damages your hair. Avoid it as much as possible. Also, when using hair setting products such as gel or putty, use as little as possible, because they hurt your scalp and hair. Wash them out thoroughly afterwards with a shampoo specially created for removing styling products.

I had nice thick hair! Now it is flat and limp! Help?

Maybe it's getting too long....the longer the hair the heavier it's going to be. Even a 1/4" trim works wonders.

As for the blow drying......use some kind of protectant in it. Your hair gets damaged from the heat and needs to be protected. I suggest Paul Mitchell Heat Seal....if you're willing to spend a few more dollars....try Biolage Thermal Active Spray.

Good Luck!

I had nice thick hair! Now it is flat and limp! Help?

Don't blow dry your hair with as much heat. The more heat you use. The straighter and thinner it will become. Try letting hair air dry, before blow drying it adds body.

What is the Best way to curl Thick Hair?

Should i use hot rolers of what. Curls dont stay in my hair either. Please help i dont know what to do i am not very good at curling it too so it has to be easy.

What is the Best way to curl Thick Hair?

My hair is really thick, put styling gel when your hair is still wet, then blowdry

sometimes I will straighten the base first

I like to use a 1 1/2 barrel curling iron and do ringlets, in small sections using hairspray or mousse as I go.

I use mousse for very humid days, hairspray if not.

Then smooth them out with leave in frizz treatment.

I am a curling iron freak, my favorites were purchased at Sally's; Ceramic Tools by Jibere, they are gold and black.

A little expensive ($40- $60) but very hot and not much damage. I have had all 4 of mine for about 2 years.

Quick to heat and cool.

What is the Best way to curl Thick Hair?

hot rollers or a curling iron, use a thermal setting spray first before you curl, that will help the curl to hold better.

What is the Best way to curl Thick Hair?

over night. my girlfriend does it all the time, and it turrns out SO beautiful

What is the Best way to curl Thick Hair?

Yes you need to section your hair off starting from the bottom and work your way up so it is not a big mess. Also try spraying each strand w/ hair spray first so when you take the curling iron off it will stay curly. also try pin each curl up after you curl it and then take all the clip out at the end and spray w/ good holding spray and shake so it will fall naturally. Good luck. Please add me to your contacts and email me w/ any hair questions you have via yahoo answers.

What is the Best way to curl Thick Hair?

straighten your hair first and then curli. thats what i do its works

Thick hair bangs good idea?

yea bangs look better with thinner hair cuz then if u have thick hair the bangs will be all puffy

Thick hair bangs good idea?

I have very thick hair and have worn bangs most of my life .

Have your hairdresser Feather them in or Razor for a different modern look .

Thick hair bangs good idea?

oh my gosh i am having the exact same problem! i took a test on cosmopolitan (even though im just a teen i dont like to read cosmopolitan) It said it depends on your face shape but i think im gunna

Thick hair bangs good idea?

I think it all depends on the shape of your face. I also had Bangs as a child and they were cute and have THICK brown hair but would not dream of having them now I like the side bangs myself , and think about how thick your hair is. I would not do it if I were you maybe go for a layered cut.

Thick hair bangs good idea?

alright since u have thick hair make thin bangs cause if they thick bangs they tend to puff out. my last girlfriend got made cause her hair was thick and she didnt know wat 2 do

Thick hair bangs good idea?

Great idea!

Thick hair bangs good idea?

I am a hairdresser and if u r under 30 and want thick bangs, make the the longer side swept bangs and razor or "chop" the ends so it wont overwhelm ur face

Thick hair bangs good idea?

well i had bangs, actually a little bit ago, and let me tell you it was a horrible idea. Trust me, do not do it. You'll thank me.

Thick hair bangs good idea?

hmm well my friend has hair that sounds like yours, she's middle eastern. She cut her hair short with side bangs and it looks really cute. Kind of emo/scene-ish.

Thick hair on my arms... please help!?

Thick hair on my arms... please help!?

Thick hair on my arms... please help!?

I don't know how to make it thinner without waxing or shaving, but you can bleach the arm hair to make it less noticable.

Thick hair on my arms... please help!?

I really don't think you can thin your arm hair. But its not as unnatural to get rid of that air completely as it would seem. I thought the idea was so weird, but then the guy I liked told me it was gross to have a lot of arm hair so I started shaving it. My arms are so much smoother now and I don't have to worry about embarassing hairs. I'm not saying its the best thing to do, but think about it.

Thick hair on my arms... please help!?

ummm bleaching is the best way ...

bleach will give you the same color as your skin..so you don't have to worry about putting lotions everyday

Thick hair on my arms... please help!?

wax... it gets thinner and sparser over time, nothing else will do it

shaving makes it worse over time as will the depilatory cremes

so leave it alone or wax

Thick hair on my arms... please help!?

hmm.. mayb lyke bleach them. it'll look blonde but at least no one can see it unless they get really close but im sure u'll prevent that from happening :)

Thick hair on my arms... please help!?

bleach

Thick hair on my arms... please help!?

i know you said you dont want to wax but thats what i would recomend, if its the pain then ill tell you waxing doesnt hurt that bad and if the hair annoys you enough then youll get over that, that is the only way that i know of to make it thinner, waxing repeatedly can damage the hair follicle and cause the hair to stop growing... good luck with the whole thing

Thick hair on my arms... please help!?

No i don't wax my arms either, but maybe try it once, and ask your friends on feedback. it's in your genes, wich sadly means you can't do anything about it.

Thick hair problem.. PLEASE READ :D?

I have shoulder length thick hair, i had it cut the other day and it thinned out a tiny bit. I have been looking at GHD straighteners but does any one have any before and after pictures of what they look like after using them, or can any one recommend any Shampoo, Heat protection, or hairstyles ect? Thankyou ;]

Thick hair problem.. PLEASE READ :D?

I also have super thick curly/wavy hair. I like redken and biosilk products personally. A hair straightener is my best friend. After shampooing and conditioning, while your hair is still damp spray on redken heat treat and blow dry hair using a round brush to straighten while drying. After dry, use about a dime size(don't use too much) amount of biosilk silk therapy and run through hair evenly, go back over hair with straightener in small sections. Finish with a light finishing hair spray to hold. Your hair will be less poofy and you will feel like you are leaving a salon.

Thick hair problem.. PLEASE READ :D?

braid ur hair or scrunch it

Thick hair problem.. PLEASE READ :D?

I got a straightener at Walmart called Wet to Straight- its amazing! :) If you're trying to make your hair thin and straight, I reccomend using a straightener and Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum. A less expensive vversion of that is Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Weightless Serum.

Thick hair problem.. PLEASE READ :D?

I have really, really thick, curly hair. The only thing I have found that will straighten it is a CHI flat iron. I know they are really expensive for a straightener, but they work. Farouk makes great styling aids and shampoos for straightening hair. Check out their Biosilk line. You can get the full line at ULTA, but most mall salons carry at least some of the products.

Thick hair problem.. PLEASE READ :D?

my hair is also thick and pantene pro v works really well... also ceramic straighteners

Thick hair problem.. PLEASE READ :D?

Okay so you need a chrome straightener.. 1 inch is good.. easy to manouver.. As for heat protection get Paul Mitchel Super Skinny.. Use it before and after straightening

Thick hair drama?

i have thick long black hair i wanted sleek and shiny but all that i have tried it just made it puffy and dry help anyone

Thick hair drama?

My hair has always been big and frizzy until about 5 years ago when I discovered the Chi straight iron. Try it with a product like Redken's heat glide or Biosilk, it's my miracle tool!

Thick hair drama?

go to your hair stylist and ask them to "thin" it for you....ive had it done and it does help, they use a weird tool that thins out your hair so its easier to manage

Thick hair drama?

i have the same type of hair..its down bellow my waist..very long black THICK!!!! ok...i use a ceramic hair iron YOU HAVE TO GET ONE..I PROMISE IT WILL MAKE EVERYTHING WORTH IT! ...they are the best! and dont harm ur hair at all.. they make hair SUPER SHINEY and ur thick hair will look less than half its size after ur finished straightening it!

take my advice plz and buy a CHI!!

Thick hair drama?

try porring water over it and then adding thick liquid to it and repeat and it should be thin soon ^-^

Thick hair drama?

I have thick hair as well and when I go and get it cut I tell my stylist that I need it thined out. It works really well and it will help your hair not weigh so much and it will be easier to style. Hope this helps

Thick hair drama?

a ceramic flat iron and some mousse...

Thick hair drama?

All you need is the Maxi Glider from QVC. That is a home shopping network. It makes the curliest, frizziest hair smooth, bouncy and pin straight. The Beyond Straight hair spray stops your hair from getting frizzy if it rains. Once you iron your hair, and spray it, it should last for 2 weeks (if your hair is not naturally oily and can go without washings for 2 weeks). I have very long, spiral curled hair. Mine lasted 3 weeks and LOOKED /SMELLED GREAT.

I like to alternate between having curly hair and straight hair.

I should mention that I have hair like Andie Mc Dowell. But when I was done, it was like Lucy Liu. See ya.

Thick hair drama?

hey- i had the same problem. i have REALLY thick hair, and its really curly also when i would straighten it, i could never have it flat like i wanted. the only way i can get my hair flat flat is by doing this:

-first i wash and condition my hair

-then i use rollers or wrap my hair around my head and sit under a hair dryer for about 45 minutes until the hair is completely dry.

if ur hair isn't curly then you can just skip this and air or blow dry it.

-then i section each hair in small sections, use some oil or Proclaims Hair Glosser and put a bit on each section of hair, make sure to get some on the scalps. then run the Chi straightening iron through it and hold it close to the scalp for a few secs and then move it down.

the key to getting flat hair is flattening on the roots, thats that hardest part!

-sometimes i go through my head with the straightening iron twice to get it even flatter.

when i'm done my hair is pretty flat - altho not as flat as girls with thin hair- but i looks straight and full!

And i dont wash my hair everyday bc i definately dont have the time to do this every morning. but i usually go to the salon b/c its really cheap where i live and its faster.

Redken smooth down shampoo, conditioner, and heat glide

Thick curly hair. HELP!?

Okay, well I鈥檝e struggled with dry, frizzy, hair since I was little. My mom is African American, and my Dad is mostly Spanish. So I have a mix of hair types. But it鈥檚 still EXTREMELY frizzy, and way too thick. Like REALLY thick! I鈥檓 considering thinning it out with the thinning scissors. But I鈥檓 not sure because I know my hair will grow back, and I鈥檓 not sure if it will just make it frizzy on top. I鈥檓 not sure if long layers would help. But I鈥檒l probably end up with them, just to see. Do you have any suggestions?? Any would help. Oh yea, and I got a relaxer and it helped, but my hair is still soo thick that it takes forever to straighten it. And if it helps, I鈥檓 only 14 陆. So I don鈥檛 really have the money to get anything expensive done to my hair. Like that Japanese straightening thing. So thanks if you can help.

-Autumn.

Thick curly hair. HELP!?

my hair is thicker than thick and very curly and it has that irish texture to it. I got it thinned and i saw no difference. My hair seemed a lot thinner when i let it grow long, it does take longer to straighten but it doesnt look as thick as it has before.

Thick curly hair. HELP!?

just use a stay in conditioner........

Thick curly hair. HELP!?

John Frieda Frizz-Ease Straight Ahead shampoo and conditioner. For extra help with frizz, use the frizz-ease serum, too, on your wet hair.

If you get a hair straightener, make sure that it has ceramic plates. These won't damage your hair as much, and will make your hair shinier.

Make sure you trim your hair regularly so that it doesn't get too damaged from all the straightening.

Thick curly hair. HELP!?

Well i would say just put it in a low ponytail, looks very good on hispanic women. But if you REALLY want it thinner, then use the thinning scissors, that worked with my hair.

Thick curly hair. HELP!?

short hair is really in and cute! so - start with the layers and if you don't like it go short or shorter layers.

short hair is easier to maintain - less styling means less harshness to your hair.

good luck!

Thick curly hair. HELP!?

get it thinned at a salon, it'll be done rite then, or braid it. that's really cute and easy to deal with, besides- you could match beads with your clothes.

Thick curly hair. HELP!?

I AM A PROFESSIONAL HAIR STYLIST, I RECOMMEND YOU DEEP CONDITION YOUR HAIR WITH "PERFECT RESULTS" PRODUCTS, THEN GET IT CUT INTO A MANAGEABLE STYLE LIKE LONG LAYERS, OR CUT YOUR HAIR SHORT AT THE BACK AND LAYERED AT THE TOP . INDEED IT WILL GROW BACK, ALL HAIR DOES, IT WILL BE UP TO YOU TO KEEP UP THE CUT/STYLE. YOU CAN ALSO CUT IT TO A MANAGEABLE LENGTH AND THEN KEEP IT STRAIGHTENED WITH CERAMIC IRONS. BUT YOU HAVE TO BE FAITHFUL TO YOUR HAIR AND KEEP IT UP OR ELSE YOU'LL BE BACK AT SQUARE ONE! HOPE I HELPED! GOOD LUCK!

Thick curly hair. HELP!?

Okay you probably just have coarse hair (i'm spanish, it's an ethnic thing :] ..) Now straightening it can just make it even more frizzy because it dries out your hair even more.

Now *J Beverly Hills* makes a Masque treatment that you can buy in the bottle %26amp; just put in your hair.. it smooths it out %26amp; makes it so much better. ( i don't think you can buy it at a CVS.. try ordering it online)

also try using *Frizz Ease*... you can buy it at CVS

%26amp; by the way DO NOT TRY TO THIN OUT YOUR HAIR =O worst thing ever. it will completely ruin your hair.

good luck to ya =) - olivia.

How to make thick hair wavy and not frizz?

I have extremely thick hair with a natural wave/curl to it. (The bottom layer curls and the top layer is more wavy than curly.) I have tried many products to reduce the frizz and the make my hair look nice without it poofing out. Hair cuts don't seem to work and I cannot find a product out there that actually makes my hair stay curly. Does anyone have any suggestions?

How to make thick hair wavy and not frizz?

you better go for the wellastrate hair cream .That helps you a lot to straight your hairs.

How to make thick hair wavy and not frizz?

You need to start off using a good shampoo go get mane and tale it helps get your hair healthy and tames dandruff and frizz. Then get you some gel and put on your hair do not blow dry your hair all that does is cause frizz and volume. If you keep the gel on it and let it dry and then spray it with hair spray that should do the trick.

How to make thick hair wavy and not frizz?

What I do is use John Freida's hair serum (extra strength), and while hair is still damp apply a gel. You can then separate into wavy ringlets or wait until dry and comb thru for a softer look. Make sure you have a good layered haircut, too.

I'm from Srilanka.can i know the ways to make my hair thick in 6 months?

Massage your hair with hibisus leaves' paste and take a shower.

I'm from Srilanka.can i know the ways to make my hair thick in 6 months?

There are many thickening and volumizing hair products available, but they do no physiologically thicken hair. These products coat the hair, giving it more body.

Keep in mind that we are born with all of our hair follicles in place. A certain number of follicles are predetermined to produce long, thick (even gray hair), others are predetermined to produce short, fine, nonpigmented hair.

That being said, a combination of heredity, hormones, and age causes progressive shrinking, or miniaturization of certain scalp follicles. The number of follicles that become miniaturized depends on the heredity of of each person.

There are a few options:

Non medical- Wigs, hair weaving, extensions.

Medical Treatments (keep in mind these are only treatments for hair thinning/loss, not a cure)

Topical treatment, such as Minoxidil solution medically proven to partially enlarge miniaturizd follicles and reversing the miniaturizing process. This prolongs the growth phase of the hair cycle, allowing the hair to become longer and thicker.

Surgical- Surgical options ar mostly available for men. but it won't hurt to research it and speak with a physician.

I hope this helps.

Help with thick hair...?

i have quite thick hair and i usually straighten it for school but id like to curl it but it wud take sooo long, is there any other options?

i want to try a different look

something that stays in despite bad weather, and i dont like it tied back

Help with thick hair...?

What about an haircut?

You can cut your hair down, it wont be thick anymore.

Help with thick hair...?

if you dont have time to curl it have you tried scrunching it? put in some mouse or frizz ease serum when your heairs damp and scrunch it upside down and then a but when your strait up to make it look right, let it dry a bit and if alls gone well use some hairspray. should work to give it a wave.

Help with thick hair...?

you can put rollers in it. the ones you sleep in and take them out when you wake up before school?.. that is one option instead of standing there and curling it piece by piece.

Help with thick hair...?

My hair's really thick too. Curling tongs take AGES for me, so when I want curly hair, I plait it the night before. It works best after a shower. If you want it to stay curly despite bad weather, put a hella lot of hair spray on your hair =D

Help with thick hair...?

i have natural hair as well... I FEEL YOUR PAIN!... i think the best thing is to go to the salon... let them do some "straw curls" .... that should last and you can spritz it a lil just for holding purposes..

Help with thick hair...?

I Have Thick Hair Too ;[ Really Thick Hair

So The Other Day I Got It Into Really Short Layers Nn It Thinned, Nn Now My Hair Iss Really Easy To Curl Nn Straightnern. So Yuu Shud Go To The HairDressers Nn Ask For Short Layers Att The Top Nn It Thinned ;) Itt Workks :D

GurddLuck Hope I Helped !!! (Y)

Help with thick hair...?

Well I have quite thin hair so I think your really lucky to have a head full of hair, but one thing to make it thinner and more managable is to ask your hairdresser to 'razor' your hair. This just thins it out and makes things alot easier ... my sister had it done and she has never regretted it. Also it dosen't take any of the legnth away so you can keep it long. The inverted bob looks very cute too and is very stylish this season.

Help with thick hair...?

My hair is very long and thick. Occasionally I rag it before i go to bed, leave it overnight and then finger curl it free in the morning. Can last up to a week.

Help with thick hair...?

I had this strait hair, what I used was steam rollers and flexible hairs spray. also what my hair styles said was, "if you want to curl your hair that best time to do is when you leave your hair dirty for a day." so don't wash your hair in the morning and next morning try curling it. also what helped me was getting the bottom of my hair tapered and some layers, it really helped and it wasn't so "same old same old."

good luck :)

Help with thick hair...?

I love bunned hair, so try perhaps this style. A messy bun looks cool, also a side bun with pretty slide is also an effective hair style, you could also put a small fringe down, so it looks even more cool.

Help with thick hair...?

i've thick hair too..and sometimes i curl it and you're right it take soooooooo long...

Well in this case i dry my hair and I curl it using my fingers (starting when they are completely wet),i hate rollers -i can't sleep- and this is a good alternative. You'll have beautiful curls..

try!

Help with thick hair...?

wash hair

plait into loads of little plaits

spary with hairspray

sleep in them

morning - take out plaits carefully

spray once again

use straightners on ends to curl up and towards your face.

FRIZZY-DRY-THICK HAIR...Please help!!!!!?

Hi, Im having a hair crisis, I died, curled, bleached my hair for 4 years, it got so awful i decided to stop and cut it al short. After 3 years is finally growing out a little better, but although my hair had always been a little dry, it bacame really frizzy and has different textures all over. I straighten it last year and it helped with the texture, but it was still dry. Now its frizzy all over again and very dry and fragile....How can I end this nightmare???

FRIZZY-DRY-THICK HAIR...Please help!!!!!?

Its a good idea to deep condition your hair at least once a week- a lot of frizz comes from damage to your hair. Applying a leave in conditioner will often help tame your frizz, without weighing it down too much or leaving it feeling greasy. Some suggested leave in conditioners: Aveda Brilliant Damage Control, Bumble and bumble leave in conditioner with frizz control, or Aussie Hair Insurance. Oh and you should probably go to your salon get a trim and cut off all your dead ends and get a hairstyle that will tame your frizz. Layers usually help. You can also use Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Frizz Control products, shampoo, conditioner, refining mask and the extra strength serum.

FRIZZY-DRY-THICK HAIR...Please help!!!!!?

tell your hairdresser to layer you hair so that your hair wont be so thick. as for your frizzy hair problem, you could try perminently straighten your hair, or try using Herbal Esscenses 'none of my frizzness', ive never tried it but i used dangerously straight and it worked quite well

FRIZZY-DRY-THICK HAIR...Please help!!!!!?

My hair is similar. Try Nexus Headress to help with the frizziness and dryness. It is a leave-in conditioner and works well. Try not to straighten, blow-dry, or dye it until it becomes a little less fragile.

FRIZZY-DRY-THICK HAIR...Please help!!!!!?

this happens to me all the time. first try another brand of shampoo/conditioner. i usually use herbal essenses blue bottle or pantene's ice shine. you can also use this special gel called got 2 b. it detangled/kepps tangles/knots out and helps stop frizzyness. it truly works. just try it. if you use got 2 b you apply it after your shower it works best after the herbal essences. hope you try it. i told all my friends about it and they used my advice!!!!!!!!!!!!1 :)

FRIZZY-DRY-THICK HAIR...Please help!!!!!?

try pantine, motions, or trisamahe

FRIZZY-DRY-THICK HAIR...Please help!!!!!?

My hair is really poofy and frizzy, so i use sunsilk cremes to make it less poofy and make the frizz go down, i also use loreal stright pro whatever with heat control before i straighten or blow dry my hair so it doen't get more damaged.

FRIZZY-DRY-THICK HAIR...Please help!!!!!?

Use Nioxxin

FRIZZY-DRY-THICK HAIR...Please help!!!!!?

go to 'naturally curly' dot com. AND--stop doing all that crap to your hair or it will either break off OR fall out!!!!! Trust me, u will be bummed out if it falls out. I had breast cancer in 1999, got a mastectomy, then chemo and my hair fell out completely. I was more upset about my hair than my breast. I got a new breast and my hair grew back but, the bald head sticks in my mind. Since then I have talked to a lot of women who felt the same way. Why not learn from someone who knows what they are doing and what products to use? U just keep destroying your hair. On naturallycurly.com they have postings for hairdressers who are good with curly hair, reviews and advice on products etc...gl.

FRIZZY-DRY-THICK HAIR...Please help!!!!!?

stop doing stuff to it and let it grow naturally. all these different products are damaging your hair

FRIZZY-DRY-THICK HAIR...Please help!!!!!?

U should buy Bed Head frizz control it really works also u should go to a hairstylist about the other stuff

Cuz girl u need some help.................

FRIZZY-DRY-THICK HAIR...Please help!!!!!?

go to a hair stylist, they can get your hair back to normal again

FRIZZY-DRY-THICK HAIR...Please help!!!!!?

1.Get your hair wet

2.Put a large amount of honey into your hair

3.Put on a shower cap and leave for a couple of minutes

4.Take of the shower cap

5.Rinse well

Thick hair.Big problem.Help!?

i have like super thick hair and wen i straighten it it looks good for a little while but then it gets all poofy and frizzy help!

Thick hair.Big problem.Help!?

use anti-frizz cream. make sure ur hair is completely dry be4 straightening.

Thick hair.Big problem.Help!?

OMG, I have that same problem and to add insult to injury, I had layers put it. might have to stick to braids for the summer.

Thick hair.Big problem.Help!?

Maybe get it professionally straightened? Usually other people have better techniques. Maybe ask a stylist what type of products they used when straightening your hair.

Thick hair.Big problem.Help!?

Hair gel is the answer or maybe moose

Sry if this doesn't help, your on your own

Thick hair.Big problem.Help!?

If it's really bad then you could go to the hair salon and get your hair relaxed..which will keep it straighter much longer..I have to do that to my hair to keep it straight. There's also this hair serum by john frieda call frizz-ease..which works really well. Hope this helps!

Thick hair.Big problem.Help!?

I have the same problem.....you should use tresemme products they are great! You should use the anit-frizz secret smoothing creme, or the so sleek defrizzing gel.

Thick hair.Big problem.Help!?

Try using a smothing lotion. You may even need to go as far as getting a smoothing cream from the African american section. They have hard to straighten hair too, I have used "Pink" relaxing lotion, and it worked for my thick hair. Kept me smooth and silky. Make sure you are using quality Moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. I like Herbal Essences "Hello Hydration". It smells coconutty, and really keeps my frizzies under controll. Dont use pantien, or garnier, they frizz you out. Also, try leaving a little of your conditioner in your hair after you shower. It will help smooth, and weigh down them frizzies!

Thick hair.Big problem.Help!?

Maybe it's your flat iron because my hair is really thick but I have a professional one and my hair stays straight all day. You could also use a straightening serum they work really good too.

Thick hair.Big problem.Help!?

MATRIX makes a great product that will not leave your hair greasy or sticky. This system has three products with it. The Shampoo and conditioner have silicone in them so it binds to the hair. Then when you towel dry your hair you use a little of the processing conditioner and take a ceramic iron over it to dry it. Even if you get a little damp it should stay shiny and straight. I have very curly hair that just gets frizzy or greasy with other products.

Thick hair.Big problem.Help!?

I have the exact poofy, frizzy hair. But I have an idea and it might help you.I use Bio silk Silk Therapy. Just use a little and only put it on the sides and back of your hair.Don't rub it in just glide your hands over the back and sides of your hair. When I use iton my bangs I find that my bangs look greasier than normal. Of course use the gel/frizz product. My stylist Say's the number 1 complaint from women is..".can we say it all together."... Frizz.

Big forehead, curly thick hair...WHAT STYLE OF HAIR???

That's right, I have a big forhead (and head for that matter) along with thick, curly hair. I have a pro straightener so I have the option of straightening it once and a while.

Now: my hair is always pulled (which excentuates my forehead even more) in a messy pony or bun.

Any ideas as to how I should cut my hair? Keeping in mind my forehead?

I really appreciate any advice thank you. :)

Big forehead, curly thick hair...WHAT STYLE OF HAIR???

i would get bangs to cover most of your forehead.

and then straighten your bangs so they arent poofy.

but leave the rest curly.

that would look SOO totally cute :D :D

Big forehead, curly thick hair...WHAT STYLE OF HAIR???

Part it to the side and sweep from the part downward across the forehead and back into a pony or bun. You can also wear it down that way. The swept hair will help to minimize your forehead. And the curly hair, just live with it because people are usually jealous. At least that's what I was always told about my curly hair! :o) Also, become friends with bobby pins (to keep your sweep in place).

Big forehead, curly thick hair...WHAT STYLE OF HAIR???

Ohh I'm with you girlie. I have the SAME problem. My head and forehead are quite large too. You can get side swept bangs which cover approx. half your forehead and if you like to put your hair in a pony or bun, it's perfect because it still covers your forehead.

Here's some pictures of what I'm talking about -

http://teamsugar.com/files/images/File04...

http://z.about.com/d/beauty/1/0/T/G/Lind...

I have side bangs and they are awesome! (not to mention if your into what's "in," side bangs are in)

Big forehead, curly thick hair...WHAT STYLE OF HAIR???

I would keep it long myself and maybe layer it the length takes away from your forehead. If you don't have bangs let your hairdresser have a field day they love to create them this will also cover some of your forehead.

Big forehead, curly thick hair...WHAT STYLE OF HAIR???

I would recomend something loose and natural, sholder length maybe, letting some shorter curls hang over your forehead. defenately embrace your natural texture though, trying to tame it is just a hassle when you can use it to your advantage! good luck!

Big forehead, curly thick hair...WHAT STYLE OF HAIR???

I don't know why curlies are so quick to straighten their hair. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. Embrace it, it's a part of who you are. NEways...bangs in front work for my best friend. Or twists all over your head.(They will hang in front and are a hairstyle that doesn't require straightening:)

I would suggest going to motowngirl.com for other hairstyle how to's.

And embrace that BIG forehead too!

Big forehead, curly thick hair...WHAT STYLE OF HAIR???

Get sideswept bangs and even if you tie your curly hair up, make sure you do your bangs (either straighten or blow dry them).

When I used to have bangs, I would straighten them and put mousse in the rest of my hair and leave it down. It would look really cute. I have a big forehead too and a round face so the angular bangs made my face look squarer.

What else you could do is sprinkle some fine highlights in your bangs too. That would look nice and summery.

Big forehead, curly thick hair...WHAT STYLE OF HAIR???

Well, exactly what does your curls look like?

If you have a large forehead, I'd get bangs that I would straighten everyday.

If you have small neat curls, keep it a little longer than shoulder length, it will frame your large head (:-P)

If you have large messy curls, keep it long, don't thin it out too much if you choose to thin it out, and if you layer it, layer it all around and not just to frame your face. It will be easier to maintain that way.

I hope I've helped.

OH! and if you're really into making a large leap, add some highlights to ascentuate your new look! =D

Just don't do anything drastic! Think it out! I know it's just hair, and it will grow out or it will be redyeable but don't forget what damage it does to your hair!

Thick hair needs curls?!?

I have a dance coming up and I was hoping to do something with my thick, straight hair that will not hold a curl!! Any tips?? It needs to stay the entire night...my biggest problem is that the curls always fall flat after dancing!

Thick hair needs curls?!?

hair mousse, hair spray and curl activating spray. those are the stuff i use when i go out for a dance. you have to you use loads of these products. it's just for one night so don't worry about it too much. anyway it's nearly impossibel to keep hair without falling flat near to the end of the dance, then you should spray it with some curl activating spray. so use a good set of hot rollers use mousse and hair spray and go have fun.

Thick hair needs curls?!?

Don't curl, or don't dance.

Thick hair needs curls?!?

i have thick hair to and i think that puting curls in thick hair is hard and it just makes your hair look even bigger. but if you truley want them then use loads of hair spray. or you can go to a hair salon and see wat they recommend. or just get it done by a stylist if you really really want them to stay up.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Thick hair needs curls?!?

Try wet setting you hair, this is how you do it:

Wash your hair and use wrap lotion be Motions and use medium to big rollers to roll up your hair, let it dry then take the rollers out out, the curls will last longer, or you can just put smaller curls in your hair with the curling irons and use lots of hair spray.

Thick hair needs curls?!?

Perhaps you should try to only curl the top layer of hair. It would probably stay better and it might look cute.

Thick hair needs curls?!?

The best is a product called Curls Up from FX Special Effects! You can get it at any Wal-Mart, CVS, Walgreens, etc. Its the best! You'll love it!

A couple of questions on thick hair?

my hair is thick. not REALLY thick, but pretty thick that makes me want to rip it out. i asked my friend if there was a way they can thin it out a tiny bit that might not be SO expensive for my parents. she suggested me to get my hair 'razored.' what does that mean and what does it do? would it be good for my hair?

A couple of questions on thick hair?

just ask your stylist to thin it out. she'll know what to do

they just take a small little razor and like, shave of hair. not on your scalp but like, the long hair. it just gives it layers and thins it out. but i dont think its good for your hair.

A couple of questions on thick hair?

Razored means just what it sounds like. They use a razor to cut your hair. They should also be able to use thinning shears on it to decrease some of the volume you have.

What do you use to make your hair thick and smooth ? do you have any suggestions ?

Ever since i became 11 years old, my hair has become thin can you tell me what to use to make it thick again.? please do share your thoughts.

What do you use to make your hair thick and smooth ? do you have any suggestions ?

use jonathan product. you can get it at sephora. theres a product called "dirt" its like a thickening clay. you can also try bedhead.. they have a product that has the word thickening in it.. sorry, can't remember the name.. but its has like a thick consistency, and you just apply near the roots.

as for smooth and shiny hair, use oil treatements. you can easily get them at drug stores or salons sell them sometimes.

What do you use to make your hair thick and smooth ? do you have any suggestions ?

When I go to the salon and my hair looks a little thin or limp,my stylist will use volumizing shampoo(made by Halo or Tigi) and Sexy Big Hair products. If yours is stemming from hereditary issues you might wanna try Nioxin products. As far as for smoothness,a flat iron and thermal spray with a leave in Mango conditioner also by Tigi.

The girl on the left. I love how her hair is very thick at the top and even though her hair is curled, when it is straight, its still thick! How can i get this thickness?!

How to volumize your hair

The style of cut can make a very large difference in the volume of your hair.

the best way to reduce volume on your ends is to stay AWAY from blunt cuts, and get a layered look, the more layers you have the thinner your hair will be at the ends.

for a more literal way to look at it heres this picture: http://i3.ebayimg.com/02/i/000/b6/22/c7e...

see how it's fuller at the top and at the ends it's skinny? but most people obviously wouldn't wear their hair like this, it's better to go with soft layers.

I personally like really long layered looks like this:

http://hairstyle.sighvogue.com/wp-conten...

or

http://hairzingers.com/images/sce/sandra...

despite the cut, you might be able to devolumize your ends by straightening them.

and you can add more volume at the crown by blow drying upside down, you can also apply mousse at your roots before you dry. also teasing it, and setting it with hair spray if you want to.

How to get thick hair (Picture Included)?

have more layers cut in to your hair and when you have washed it when damp put mouse on it and then blast with the hair dryer this will create a thicker and bounceyer hair style

If your hairdoesnt grow long it will definitely bring out the thickness and to let you knoe that is part track in her hair

How to get thick hair (Picture Included)?

1) Don't put all sorts of chemicals in your hair.

2) Avoid straightening it.

3) Wash it no more then twice a week.

Oh and if you're willing to get it all shaved, which i very much doubt, your hair would grow to be amazingly thick.

Had that done when i was a lot younger, helped.

How to get thick hair (Picture Included)?

It's basically the way her hair is cut, if you cut it choppy at the bottom and cut alot, but not acctually cutting it short [does that make sense?] then you will technically have less hair at the bottom and your hair will look fuller att he top. You can also use a Volumizing Mousse on your roots.

ALERT EMERGENCY! read my other question too, thick hair?

ok so i have realyl thick hair, no one is answering my other thick hair question so i thought i would re ask. i have thick black east indian hair, and its about 3 inches below my should (3-4) inches below. I was wonderin are there any good hair styles that are quick everyday kind of styles.

and can i get my hair thinned out without it being short.

whenever i get it thinned out they go above my shoulders then i have to grow it out AGAIN. is there any way to get it thinned out with it below my shoulders?

i m 5'2 91 lbs and heart shaped face tanned

ALERT EMERGENCY! read my other question too, thick hair?

layers will thin out your hair

ALERT EMERGENCY! read my other question too, thick hair?

y don't you post up a picture so we can see how your hair really looks like

ALERT EMERGENCY! read my other question too, thick hair?

I had thick wavy hair too. I got layers and it thinned it out. If you go to your salon ask if they have a pair of scissors that they clip in random spots. Then they comb the hair and ALOT of hair just comes out. I'm not sure what it's called but it works really good. My hair stylist does it and i love it.

My 9-year-old daughter has very long thick hair. It is normally very straight and manageable?

however when she goes in the pool (which she does every day during the summer, because we have one) her hair gets very dry and frizzy and totally matted. I dont want to ruin her summer fun but what can I do to help her hair not look so ratty in the summer?

My 9-year-old daughter has very long thick hair. It is normally very straight and manageable?

You should braid her hair before she goes in the pool.(that will help)

You need to buy a very good shampoo/conditioner for dry or frizzy hair. It will bring the body back. Before she goes in the pool maybe you should put a little conditioner in her hair and then braid her hair. That will make a difference in her hair.

use this before or after she goes into the pool!

My 9-year-old daughter has very long thick hair. It is normally very straight and manageable?

I agree, one long braid down the back will keep it neat. You must treat her hair as well, as clorine has a tendency to dry out hair.

My 9-year-old daughter has very long thick hair. It is normally very straight and manageable?

why don;t you try gettting her hair wet before she gets in the pool a quick shower

My 9-year-old daughter has very long thick hair. It is normally very straight and manageable?

braid her hair and get a good conditioner or you she can wear those plastic shower caps if she want too but it might not work

Tie her hair up with the help of sum hairclips....so that she feels cum4table %26amp; cud enjoy lyk she does...!!

How to fix my thick hair??

I'm pretty sure you could call my hair 'thick'. As in that it seems like there's far too much of it on my head to be able to style it into anything that looks good! It doesn't really feel 'fine' and it just looks terrible when I try to put it in a 'messed up style'. My hair is resonably short and I should be able to style it but nothing works. I've tried dozens of hair products.

Can getting my hair cut with thinning scissors be beneficial? How do they even make your hair look thinner and more managagable? Would it be wise to go the hairdresser/barber or is this something I could do myself?

How to fix my thick hair??

Hair straighteners, a girls best friend could be yours too.

How to fix my thick hair??

blow drying or straightning

How to fix my thick hair??

my friend has the same problem and when she got her hair cut they took the hair around you neck and and slightly cut it off so your hair appeared thinner, but it looks good. just like normal hair.

How to fix my thick hair??

I also have extreamly thick hair. Using a straight iron helps me but I do have it thinned and I love it! You should get it thinnned. Go to your hair dresser so it gets done right and just ask to have it thinned. I can usually style my hair any way i want to when I have it done.

How to fix my thick hair??

Absolutely go to a professional %26amp; get advice on what will work for you. You need to go to a better place than Supercuts with your situation.

How to fix my thick hair??

Ask for a layered cut. Also I suggest growing it longer, and buy good shampoo. I have extremely thick crazy hair that I've learned to deal with by using good shampoo and conditioners, and good styling products. Salon stuff, not cheap drug store stuff. Not sure how old you are, but I am 30 and I can tell you your hair texture will probably be easier to deal with when you get to be my age. Mine has calmed down alot.

How to fix my thick hair??

Hey, right now i have the total opposite problem of you, I have relaly thin hair? please give me some of your hair you lucky thing, at leasy you wont loose a lot when you get older.

Anyway, how to solve thick hair, YES ask your hairdresser to thin your hair out, my brother has relaly thick hair and has his thined out it looks really good when its done, so try it! also

Definately long layers and a straightening iron work wonders. Also when you pick styling products go for ones that have silicone in them, it gives a nice shine to hair and at the same time weighing it down so it won't poof out. my brothers fave is BedHead shine junkie.

How to fix my thick hair??

NO don't get a hair cut! I also have really thick hair and I've actually gotten that hair cut before and it just makes it look thicker. What I would suggest is to get a straightener, it will be the best thing that will ever happened to you!!!!!

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How to fix my thick hair??

I don't know how short your hair is but u can always ask to get a trim with a razor..Its hair razor not the kind u use to shave. This makes your hair look finner. And If u do straighten your hair use products that don't damage your hair

How to fix my thick hair??

I also have very, very thick hair and I get it thinned - it is amazing the difference that it makes in my hair and what I'm able to do with it! I wear it in long layers (shorter layers make it look poufy and all one length is just too much hair!). I also use anti-frizz serum in my hair and never blow dry it, only straight iron. I've also always been told to not wash my hair every single day as it's too drying on thick hair. But, getting it thinned out with the thinning shears is the best way to go - I can actually wear my hair in a pony tail after I get it thinned!

How to fix my thick hair??

Thinning shears are scissors that thin your hair by clipping some of the inner parts off and leaving the outside long. I wouldn't reccommend it, because sometimes it just makes your hair look even more thick and unruly. If you truly want it done, though, don't attempt to do it yourself. Go to a hairstylist and ask if they've had any experience with using them before you have your hair cut. If you're not sure if you want it done, ask your hair stylist if it would look the best with your hair and face shape.

How to fix my thick hair??

yes get your hair cut with thinning scissors

don't do it yourself

How to fix my thick hair??

I thin my hair and it seems to work well but I do NOT recommend doing it yourself I did once and it was horrible! Big sections of my hair were missing and shorter then the rest! I have it done proffessionally and they take gobbs of it out and let me tell you what IT FEELS WAY WAY BETTER!!!!

If sections don't feel thin enough for you then ask them to thin it more, make sure they comb it out for you because then you can tell if it is thin enough or not they can always take more out. I recently went with a razor cut up around my face and well I guess all over and I love it so much better! They do not charge much to thin your hair

How to fix my thick hair??

Haha aww you're a guy and getting girl answers.

This might sound..well girly to you but it isn't..I have thick hair, incredibly thick, and I started using Suave Sleek shampoo %26amp; conditioner. It makes your hair feel thin, and yes thinning scissors do help. I get thinning done...And get it cut often!

How to fix my thick hair??

If you have curly hair thining probably won't work...may make it tougher to handle. You might want to try Mixed Chicks leave-in conditioner. If you just have straight thick hair, their deep conditioner is good too. You can get the products at afrotherapy.com or naturalfrizz.com in the u.k.

I have medium length, brown hair(thick) what can I do?? how?

Me 2. What i do is get layers in my hair make it less thick and then straighten it when i go out. but not all the time heat can damage it. I love my hair and i also dye it allot but now im letting it grow out. a lil bit of highlights are pretty in dark brown hair. i have pics but don't know how to put them up. But get your hair trimed every month to keep it up. have fun just choose a good stylest.

I have medium length, brown hair(thick) what can I do?? how?

hmm...ok u shuld by CPR MOTIONS hair treatment. wen u shampoo ur hair dry ur hair but make sure is damp wit soem water in it styll.

then. put a generouse amount in your hair keep it on for 30-45 min den rinse aftetr you hair dries, u dun wont it completly dried. u can start pressing your hair ( straighting) it. notice that u dun put any oil on ur hair while ur straitng ti beacuse this could fry it. u put oil on after u straighten it.

many people think that beacuse your hair is fair you don't need to put any HAIR OIL on it this is not true. EVERY time you wash your hair you are losing some of your NATURAL HAIR OIL. that is why some of you get DANDRUFT. also you don't need to wash your hair everyday!!! this also takes away ur natural hair oil. wash ur hair 1-3 times a week. this is not nasty it could prevent damage 2 the scalp.

you can cut your hair a lil past your shoulders and get it layerd. or up 2 your middle neck.

before you do this though take POLORID picture of you with your hair parted in the middle. ( take about 6 pictures this way) then take a pernament marker n shade in about how much hair you want to cut. this will give a an idea of how u would look after oyur 'hair cut'

GOOD LUCK

Please help! Are there any good hair products that makes the hair thick??? i really want my hair to

Would Rogain work? please list all the products that would make the hair more thick and volumized. thanks!

Please help! Are there any good hair products that makes the hair thick??? i really want my hair to be thicker

I would suggest that you go to a good hair saloon. They should be able to help you find the right product for your hair and what you want. There are lots of good volumizing products out on the market, but all of them probably won't work the same way with your hair. So go to a saloon and have them recommend some products for you. A good shampoo and conditioner and styling products. They should also be able to tell you how to use the products to get the most effect out of them. Maybe they can also suggest a hairstyle that will make your hair seem thicker...

Personally I prefer the saloon products from Loreal. I have used several different ones depending on what I want from my hair. They have great products for curls, colored hair, volumizing, straightening+++They might be a bit more expensive than the store products, but they are worth it.

Good Luck!

Please help! Are there any good hair products that makes the hair thick??? i really want my hair to be thicker

pantene is really good.

Please help! Are there any good hair products that makes the hair thick??? i really want my hair to be thicker

Rogaine is only for hair loss.

The only thing that really works right away is to dye your hair, permenant works best. Because it opens up the hair shaft and adds color, the color works as another layer under the hair shaft so it feels thicker, and it also makes it a bit more porous so you may need to use a deep conditioning treatment once a week to keep it from being brittle and dry.

I don't recommend shampoos and conditioners, although it probably sounds silly. I have tried a number of different volumizing and thickening products. They do make the strands of your hair a bit thicker, but it's only buildup. And if you have fine, thin hair to begin with, chances are it's also very limp naturally and you don't want a shampoo or other product adding to this. The amount of thickness I experienced from the brands I tried was really nothing. My hair felt the same as before...but A LOT more weighed down, and greasy too and I have very dry hair to begin with.

You can also try a perm, ask for loose curls, they'll use the largest rollers which are 1". I had one done back in October and I still have a lot of body in my hair. Most of the curls have grown out, but the body is still there.

Another way is to change your diet. But in order for you to see the effects...it's not a one time thing...you have to eat healthy continuously. Even if you decide to take hair/nail vitamins, you need a healthy diet along with this...and really it's only your diet that's making the difference. An example of how long it will take...if you want to be more hydrated so you start increasing your water, it takes at least 2 weeks to start noticing it's effects. With food it's going to take longer because your body has to absorb ALL the vitamins and minerals.

If you want a temporary fix, wash your hair with a deep cleansing shampoo and follow only with a very light weight leave in conditioner. Put a little volumizing mousse at your roots and blowdry your hair upside down...try not to comb, brush or finger-comb it as you'll lose the body.

Please help! Are there any good hair products that makes the hair thick??? i really want my hair to be thicker

try garnier fruitis, I have thin hair and it seems to make it look thicker and fuller
