I have really thick hair and its curly and id like it to be strait would a strait perm help and for how long???

a straight perm is for perment. But when your hair starts to grow out (because you have curly hair) i suggest you straighten that bit with a straightener.
But I'd get one of ceramic (I know...ceramic?) hair straighteners, my friends has really curly hair and she got the same straightener as me and you can adjust the heat for straightening it. It does wonders on her hair without totally damaging it.
If you decide to get the straightening perm then remember to condition and straighten your hair when it grows out...or it will look odd...
