My 6th grade daughter has this super-thick,heavy,mid-back-length hair right now, and always used to wear a single ponytail, but now since hair's longer (and she wants
to go to waist-length) we found it's easier to make a middle part and tie 2 pigtails (high ponys),a couple of inches above ears.....it divides the weight even, and I think very soon we'll do 2 French braids ! Do you find it easier to do the same ,if hair is long %26amp; very thick ??
Daughter's super-thick hair %26amp; pigtails....?
Your daughter is in 6th grade... she shouldn't be wearing pig tails. I also have really thick heavy hair and it is also wavy. When I was her age I did the french braids. But I think that two french braids pig tails would be alot better than two regular pig tails. I think those are cute on kids and adults. But maybe even half up and half down. Another thing that I do is I straighten my hair. It makes it feel lighter and thinner.

i had a friend at that age who liked to wear her waist length hair in two french braids or one single french braid. if the thickness is a problem i know that there are a type of thinning scissors you can get at most drugstores. otherwise, i think the french braids will work fine.

two would make it easy on you and on her, but you could also make 3 pigtails, two in the front and one in the back.
