What's the best hair straightener for thick hair.?

As I don't use a hairdryer, I let my hair dry naturally. It's very hard to find a good straightener. Anyone recommend a good one %26amp; doesn't cost as much as a GHD

For thick hair you need a hair straightener with wide plates like the Babyliss Thermaglass Wide, which has glass plates which are superior to ceramic. They also come with a stand which is really useful for hot hair styling tools.

These straighteners used to be around 鎷?0, but now have a lower retail price of 鎷?9.99. A good alternative to GHD's.

Always use a good heat protection product like Trendline Gel.

Hi there.

If you straighten a lot, I would SO highly recommend getting your hair permanently straightened. There's this stuff called "Japanese Magic Straight". Lots of salons do it now. It's super good on most hair types (I have thick hair too and have had it done twice). It actually improves the condition of your hair and I swear by it. I never have to blow dry or anything and it stays stick straight. If you change your mind and want it curly, you can use a curling iron and still get curl!

I am getting mine done again very soon. You only have to do it every 8 months or so. It costs about $250.00-$300.00 depending on your hair length, but honestly, after spending about that much every year on straightening products and flat irons and the amount of time I spend blow-drying, etc. it really makes it worth it.

Here's a link with before and after pictures:

Call around and see if you can find a salon that will give you a good deal.

Almost forgot: If you go every 6 months, they will just do your roots--it's only about $150.00 then.

I have really long and very think hair which give it half a chance would probably take over the world with frizz. I use a morphy richards Thermoceramic Cordless Straighter 22070 which you can get for 鎷?9.99 (cost me 鎷?5 3 months ago!) Its so quick to heat up, it covers alot of hair at one time and takes me about 20 mins to do a sleek and shiney style. They are perfect!

nothing will be as good as a pair of ghd's you might find a reasonably priced pair on ebay

I have the exact same type of hair and I dry mine naturally too. I use the Morphy Richards digital ceramic straighteners. They are around 鎷?0 (reduced from 鎷?00) You can choose which heat setting you would like and they also have a screen to let you know when your desired heat has been reached. I have posted a link.

i also have thick hair so i know how you feel...(and i dont use a hair dryer either) Heres the 411, before you wash your hair, put in some baby oil, a samll amount cuz you don't want your hair greasy. Then, brush your damp hair and straighten it with ceramic iron, your can get one for about 20 to 50 or more dollars. The oil basically makes the hair silky smooth and after you straighten, try a de-fizz spray or anything to make your hair stay smooth and not poof up.

GHDs

What's the best hair straightener for thick hair.?

I have thick, course, naturally curly hair and here is how I do it:

After I shampoo my hair I use a deep rinse out conditioner...then when I get out of the shower I put on a leave in conditioner and comb out my hair....then I apply Chi silk infusion reconstruction oil...all this to help keep my hair moisterized and healthy....then I let it air dry as much as possible, before drying it straight with a Vidal Sassoon hair dryer that has a brush attached to it, since I cannot master the blow dryer in one hand, brush in the other hand tactic. This makes my hair straight, but since it is naturally curly, my hair is still frizzy and ugly looking....then I straighten in section at a time using my Chi flat iron. Before I flatten each section, I spray on Chi protection spray to help keep my hair from getting fried by the iron. Then when I am all finished with that, I spray on a shine spray made by TIGI and run my fingers through it. Then I lightly mist my hair with a light hair spray, to keep it in place and help with humidity frizzing it up again once I am outside. I know this sounds like alot, but once I did my hair like this several times I got the routine down and it only takes like 20 minutes. I leave the house with silky, smooth hair that is straight as a board. Also, to keep my hair from being too damaged, I get the ends cut regularly and don't wash it every day. As much as I can, I let it go curly because I heard that it is bad to flat iron your hair all the time. This also gives me 2 looks....the Chi cost me $150 which was alot for me, but it will last me a very long time....plus it came with a warrenty. I had a cheaper flat iron before, but all it did was rip my hair...and since it didn't get really hot like the good irons do...I had to run it over my hair more than once, causing more damage, resulting in more hair cuts, resulting in more money in the long run....also I mentioned alot of hair products....but I got all these 8 months ago along with my new Chi flat iron...and still have plenty to last me a while longer....so I don't find myself spending money all the time.

i work in a salon. and i get asked this loads.

basically if you dont pay for a good pair then you wont get your hair how you want it.

either that or get it permanantly straightned (but this might dry your hair out so dont bother if your hair is quite dry already)

we get women and girls coming in all the time coz they have recked their hair with cheap straightners. they get upset when we tell them how their hair is broke on the inside and we have to cut it shorter to sort it out.

if you want a good one that works you will have to pay for it. the fat plated ghd would be the best. the cheaper ones just arent as good. you will have to hold them on your hair longer to make them work for you and that will damage you hair more.

use a paddle bush as your hair is drying to help.

run a tail comb thru you hair as you are straightnening it. that will give you more control.

always use a heat defence spray to reduce damage.

christmas is coming ask for a good pair of straightners! that is what i would do!

In the salon, we use Hai flat irons, and they're amazing! And we also use flat irons by Hot Tools and the temperature they reach is a little over 300 so a thermal spray protectant for your hair would be great to use with these irons.

GHD

What's the best hair straightener for thick hair.?

GHDs, get the ones especially for thick hair, they work like a dream! If they ever break, they replace them free of charge too, so its like a lifetime investment. Wouldn't recommend permanent straightening though, hope that helps.
